Our state of the art Mobile Hardband grinder is ready to travel down the toughest lease roads in west Texas or we can go across the country. We can remove damaged hardbands on drill pipe, bha, tubing, and can grind into the base metal to assist with conversion pipe. This one of a kind unit leaves our competitors in the dust.
What Causes Damaged Hardbands?
Common Causes
- Improper Preparation and Pre-heat
Porosity / Voids – welding over titanium or wire with different chemistry, lack of shielding gas, sour gas exposure in well
Spalling or Chunking Out – improper wire applied
Cracking – improper preheat and / or cool down
Poorly Applied – untrained personnel or machine malfunction
