What is the foremost cause of a less than perfect cut? Axial vibration? Harmonic vibration?
Both issues are NON-existent with our sophisticated lathes. Whether it be bent pipe, an
8” collar, or 45’ range 3 drill pipe, our machines continue to spin at the same RPM. These
machines can handle a vast range of sizes. Spring pass? Not on our lathes. Every cut is
within .001 of the previous cuts, if not the exact same. With the capability of 8-point
indication, you are guaranteed to get a square cut each time.

We can cut items that typically were impossible to cut in the past, such as, out of round and bent/not straight. When the job does not turn, there is ZERO axial or harmonic vibration. Whereas, conventional lathe would require that the job does turn, which causes vibration.

Our spindle-bore allows us to cut a range from 0 to 20 inches without being limited to RPM restrictions due to an item’s shape and size.

Not limited to RPM restriction due to item size and shape. This prevents chatter in the root of the thread caused by harmonic vibrations. To save the life of the collar, we implement a 1/32 mud groove to allow inspectors to reface to max tolerance

Connections are given a zinc phosphate treatment after every new cut; doing this will prevent galling and will ensure better dope efficiency
